The RSL as we know it was founded in Melbourne in June 1916. This Sub-Branch held its inaugural meeting on the 19th July 1917. The first sub-branch meeting in Mount Gambier was officially held on the 17th November 1917 and the State Office advised that our Charter would be granted on the 18th December 1917.
