Sub Branch Activities


ANZAC Day - 25th April
Dawn Service is conducted at the Vansittart Park War Memorial.
Service commences at 6.15 a.m. Gunfire breakfast held afterwards at the RSL.


The ANZAC Day March
ANZAC day march commences at 10.00 a.m. from the Old Town Hall and proceeds down Commercial Street to Vansittart Park.
Combined Religious Service commences at 10.30.

 


Rememberance Day - 11th November

Remembrance Day Service is conducted at the Vansittart Park War Memorial, commencing at 10.40 a.m.

Public Appeals

Anzac Day Appeal

Conducted in the week preceding Anzac Day with a collection day on the Friday.

Poppy Day Appeal
Conducted in the week preceding Remembrance Day, with a collection day on the Friday.

Anzac Remembrance Appeal - 1965 Trust Fund Inc
For gifts to assist in the general welfare and commemoration activities of the RSL SA State Branch.

Legacy Badge Day
Held every year on the first day of September

Poppy Day Trust Fund Inc.
For gifts to assist in accommodation of veterans including the RSL Villas and the Darby & Joan Cottages scheme.

Services Cemeteries Trust Inc.
To assist the families of those ex-service persons who are unable to afford the cost of providing a permanent reminder of their loved one's service.

War Veterans Home Myrtle Bank Inc.
For gifts to assist in the operation and provision of facilities at this nursing home/hostel.
Donations must be made direct to the Home.

RSL Australian Forces Overseas Fund (SA Division) Inc.

For the provision of parcels to members of the Defence Force who are currently serving overseas.
Apart from the WVH all other gifts can be forwarded direct to the respective fund at the RSL SA Branch Office.
As well as seeking individual gifts and donations the SA Branch conducts the following public appeals and fundraising events throughout the year.

Pension Advocacy

Fully trained Pension advocates are able to assist all Ex-Service personnel and their spouses in the preparation and submission of claims for pension entitlements for a Disability Pension.

They will also assist in the appeal process if required.
SE Veterans Information Centre is located in the RSL building.
